🔐 Step-by-Step Guide: Setting Up a User with SSO Integration

When SSO integration is enabled, setting up new users is simple and mostly automated. Follow the steps below to ensure everything is configured correctly.

🖥️ Step 1: Install the Agent

  • Install the Agent on the user’s machine.

  • Once installed, the Agent connects with the server and automatically creates a new user in the Organization Management panel.

🧑‍💻 Step 2: Locate the New User

  1. Go to Organization Management in the Admin Panel.

  2. Find the newly added user under the TEAM unit (default unit for new users).

  3. Look for the user using the Display Name or Username.

    • Both will initially match the machine's username.

    • To verify the machine's username, open the command line and type:

      whoami

✏️ Step 3: Edit User Details

Click Edit next to the user's name. In the edit form, make the following updates:

🧾 Basic Info (Optional but Recommended)

  • Fill in the First Name and Last Name fields.

  • Change the Display Name to the format you’d like displayed in the Front End Panel.

📧 Add Email (Required for SSO)

  • Enter the user's Email Address in two places:

    • Under the General section.

    • Under the Account section

🏢 Assign to the Correct Unit

  • Update the Unit to place the user into the appropriate team or department in your organization’s structure.

🌍 Time Settings

  • Adjust Time Zone and Working Hours if needed to reflect the user’s location and schedule.

🔐 Step 4: Enable SSO Authentication

  • In the Account section of the form, make sure the Authentication Provider is selected.

    • This ensures the user will authenticate using their SSO credentials.

🧑‍🔧 Step 5: Set the User Role

  • Choose a Role for the user.

    • Select USER for standard users who will be collecting data.

💾 Step 6: Save and Confirm

  • Click Save to apply all changes.

  • ✅ The user is now correctly configured and can log in to the Individual Dashboard using their SSO email and password.
